The concept of Community Supported Agriculture stems from the Japanese "teikei" system which emphasizes the importance of knowing where your food comes from by getting to know your farmer. Teikei puts you face-to-face with the farmer, able to ask about how the food was produced.
becoming a member of Main Street Market's urbanCSA means you
- become a full supporter of Main Street Market urbanCSA (Community Supported Agriculture)
- get a basket every week for 25 weeks from mid-May until mid-October at the best price
- have the option of giving your basket to a friend or local food provider (via Lovingspoonful/direct to a provider of your choice) when you are away
- get a jar of local Maple Syrup if you and a friend who is new to our CSA sign up for a Full share by April 15th 2011
- continue to be on our mailing list for other food, coffee, recipes, concerts, events and more
